Q. Do I have to live close to your offices to obtain services?
A. No. However, in order to complete the RDA you will have to schedule some time in Jacksonville. The consults can be done via phone, email, or webcam.
Q. Does my child have to be a certain age to benefit from your services?
A. An RDI program can begin at any age, as each program is individualized to the specific child's strengths and weaknesses.
Q. Is RDI compatible with other types of interventions?
A. Each individual family will need to be assessed separately. Families may be asked to cease conflicting therapies and treatments if it is hindering the progress of the child.
Q. What is an RDI certified consultant?
A. A professional who has completed an intensive training program, engages in continuous study, and is recertified yearly by the Connections Center in Houston, TX.
Q. How effective is RDI?
A. In addition to parent testimonials, a study conducted by the Connections Center showed that within 18 months, 70% of children improved their diagnosis based on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). In addition, a majority of the children were transfered from special education to regular education classrooms without any additional support.
Q. What are the costs?
A. Educational consulting and advocacy are $45 an hour. Fees for a six month RDI package which includes the RDA is $2400.
