I like to give the benefit of the doubt and saw some great reviews and bad ones and thinking a safe bet booking a reputable hotel like Novotel. The lady that checked us in was so lovely and helpful. Our room while the right size for us and convenience of location, the room had mouldy air conditioning ducts, very thick with dust air vents and surrounding man holes. The shower rail also covered in mould. I asked reception after noticing if we could get this cleaned as our toddler and i are a little sensitive to dust , however we returned and only the beds were made and nothing really cleaned. I own a small country side hotel, and i am not fussy, could look past the cosmetic needs and i don't like uncomfortable situations, however its not hard to have things clean. I doubt i would book a Novotel hotel again.

We loved our stay at Novotel Surfers Paradise as it was so close to everything and we didn't need to use our car once as public transport was also close and easy to use. The only downside to this property is the extremely slow lifts.

Noise was rediculous, all night all I could hear was people in and out of the lift, doors opening and closing, etc
